According to OxGaps, on July 4th, 2023, a tragic event occurred at the Firehouse 9 Farm event center in Gilmer. 

Tragically, a fireworks explosion killed its owner, Jared, and injured four others. 

Moreover, the staff present at the center were preparing the fireworks for an upcoming event scheduled for Tuesday night when the devastating accident occurred.

They were nearing the completion of approximately 300 3-inch fireworks shells when an electric match that feeds a shell caused the explosion.

The cause of the explosion that took Maddox’s life is still under investigation. However, early signs speculate that it was an accident.
