What is Zambo Anguissa religion? The talented Cameroonian footballer’s ethnicity and faith have become a significant conversation topic, piquing the interest of a global audience.

André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, shortly Zambo Anguissa, is a Cameroonian professional football player. Football fans also know him as Frank Anguissa.

Anguissa was born on 16 November 1995. Likewise, he hails from Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Yaoundé plays as a central midfielder for Serie A club Napoli and the Cameroon national team.

Also, he joined Villarreal CF in 2019 but moved to SSC Napoli in 2021. 

Moreover, Anguissa signed with Marseille in 2015 from Stade de Reims. Likewise, the outstanding midfielder made his first team debut on 17 September 2015 in the UEFA Europa League.

Anguissa played against FC Groningen. Similarly, he made his Ligue 1 debut against Lyon in the same month three days later.

Anguissa competed in the 2018 UEFA Europa League Final. However, his team lost against Atlético Madrid at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Décines-Charpieu, Lyon, France. 

Zambo debuted in an international match representing the Cameroon national team on 24 March 2017. His national squad played a friendly against Tunisia, securing a 1–0 victory. 

In June 2019, Anguissa competed in his first Continental tournament with his national team. He played in the AfCoN 2019 hosted in Egypt.

Anguissa’s best adventure with the Cameroon national squad is during the AfCoN 2021. Likewise, he played six of the seven games in January 2022 at Home in Cameroon.

Young and talented midfielder Zambo Anguissa belongs to the Christian community. Similarly, Anguissa was born to a Christian family.

However, Zambo rarely mentions his religious beliefs and practices. It looks like he wants to stay away from the religious ideology.

Perhaps his family strongly believes in Christianity, but that information stays with him. Hence, it is difficult to tell if he values religious beliefs.

Anguissa was born to Juliette and Louis on 16 November 1995. Likewise, his family raised him in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Anguissa’s family consists of his mother, Juliette, father, Louis, two sisters, and three brothers.

Moreover, the Napoli midfielder’s family was well-known in the suburbs of the capital.

Anguissa’s grandfather, Belibi, was the chief of their neighborhood. Likewise, the young footballer always knew all the hidden paths to open spaces to play football in his locality.

Zambo knew every street corner and sandy pitch. Also, he honed his skills on a small field outside of class at school.

The president, Roger Noah, of Anguissa’s first club, AS Fortuna, revealed: 

Naturally, we had a problem. Anguissa’s mother did not want her boy to play ball as she wanted him to go to school. But he was always determined to play. Every day, he would nag us to negotiate with his mum.

Anguissa’s football consisted of playing wherever he could since the age of three. The footballer revealed in the documentary Le Coeur d’un Lion:

It all began in the street. I would kick tin cans, a tennis ball, a small plastic ball, literally anything. Today, I only have good memories.

Anguissa grew his talent, and his ability took him to the G8 tournament held in Yaounde.

After the competition, scouts and sporting directors from Europe’s biggest clubs, including Villarreal, Lyon, and Marseille, selected the 22 best players. Hence, they noticed Anguissa’s skills and talent.
