Sherri Papini ex boyfriend named James Reyes, got meddled up into the case.
To elaborate, Reyes claimed that he helped Sherri because she informed him her husband was abusing her during an FBI special agents’ interrogation with him in August 2020.
She was with him, he claimed, until she was found on Thanksgiving Day. She had never once been kidnapped.
He revealed that they communicated using pre-paid phones and that he picked Sherri up on November 2, 2016, in a rental car a friend had arranged for him.
DNA was revealed from an ex-boyfriend, James Reyes, who claimed that Papini stayed with him when she was kidnapped.
The Police officials found when Papini was found to have both male and female DNA, none of which corresponded to her or her spouse. Finally, it matched with James Reyes.
The FBI arrested Sherri Papini on March 3, 2022, on charges that she had lied to federal authorities and had staged her kidnapping so that she could spend time with her ex-boyfriend away from her husband and children.

Where Is James Reyes Now? Case Update Revealed
Sherri Papini expressed shock when police told her Reyes had told them the truth, including “things none other would know,” in a taped interview with the police.
Inside Edition reported that there were no criminal charges against Reyes. According to the Daily Mail, he was reportedly residing in Arizona as of April 2022.
