Homan joined the U.S. Border Patrol in 1985 after starting his career as a police officer in West Carthage.

Thomas Homan Owns Farmland In Ohio

President-elect Donald Trump has named Tom Homan the “border czar,” who will be in charge of immigration, marine, and aviation security along the U.S. borders. 

Tom Homan, the new director of ICE, is worth $10 million USD. In Ohio, he owns 300 acres of agriculture.

Moreover, Homan also makes $550,000 a year in rental income from his several real estate holdings.

Talking about his career, former US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) chief Thomas Homan maintained that separating children from their parents would effectively deter unauthorized border crossings.

In 2015, President Obama hailed him as a Distinguished Executive, and in 2017, he was named acting head of ICE.

In April 2018, he announced his retirement as acting ICE Director.

Following his July 2019 testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Homan joined the Heritage Foundation in February 2022.

Project 2025, which advocates for the widespread arrest, incarceration, and deportation of unauthorized immigrants, gained his support.

Homan referred to Biden’s immigration plans as “national suicide” in 2024 and urged millions of undocumented immigrants to “start packing.”

Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social,” “I am pleased to announce that the Former ICE Director, and stalwart on Border Control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation’s Borders.”

“Tom is the best at policing and managing our borders, and I’ve known him for a long time.”

Homan will oversee “all Deportations of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin,” according to Trump.
