Sue-Ellen Cassiana “Suella” Braverman KC is a British politician and attorney who has been working as the Home Secretary since October 25, 2022.

According to Portsmouth News, they celebrated at a Holiday Inn in Titchfield, Hampshire, after getting married. Together, they have two children: Gabriella, born in 2021, and George, born in 2019.

The politician’s husband is her biggest supporter, and in addition to dropping leaflets during the 2017 general election, he assisted her during the Brexit campaign.

Braverman was born on April 3, 1980, in Harrow, Greater London. She received a partial scholarship to attend the fee-paying Heathfield School in Pinner and the Brent Uxendon Manor Primary School.

She then went on to Queens’ College in Cambridge to study law. She served as the head of the Cambridge University Conservative Association while she was an undergraduate.

As an Entente Cordiale Scholar and an Erasmus Program participant, she spent two years studying for a master’s degree in European and French law at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

Cassiana has been the Fareham MP for the Hampshire district since 2015. In the January 2018 cabinet reshuffle, Theresa May was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for exiting the European Union.

Boris Johnson chose her to serve as both the Advocate General for Northern Ireland and the Attorney General for England and Wales at the February 2020 cabinet reshuffle.

When Johnson retired as Conservative Party leader in July 2022, Braverman ran for the role, but she was defeated in the second voting round.

She later supported Liz Truss’s bid for Conservative Party leader, and on September 6, 2022, she was appointed home secretary when Truss was elected prime minister.

Suella did, however, declare that he was resigning as home secretary on October 19, 2022, because a political crisis was about to arise.

Braverman was reappointed as home secretary by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on October 25th, following the creation of the Sunak cabinet.
