Sarah, the British journalist, and author, originally had the surname Harvey, which she acquired through her marriage to Julian.

After their divorce, she entered into a second marriage with Kim Fletcher, who was the former editorial director of the Telegraph group and editor of The Independent on Sunday. They have two children.

Sarah was born in Cambridge in 1961 to parents who served in the overseas civil service. She is the younger sister of Kit Hesketh-Harvey, a member of the musical duo Kit and The Widow.

Following her divorce from the author, he married Evgenia Citkowitz on September 22, 1990. Evgenia, an American playwright, author, and journalist, is the daughter of Israel Citkowitz and Lady Caroline Blackwood.

They have two daughters together. He is known to be very protective of his family and rarely discusses his wife or children in interviews. From 2020 until his disappearance, he and his family resided in Los Angeles, California.

Sands also played Jor-El, Superman’s biological father, on Smallville, and appeared in the mystery thriller film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in 2011.
