Hope Solo kids, Vittorio Genghis, and Lozen Orianna Judith Stevens, have been a constant source of support for their mother, a former football goalkeeper.
Hope Amelia Stevens, known professionally as Hope Solo, is an American former football goalkeeper with a remarkable career in the sport.
The former athlete’s journey to becoming one of the top female goalkeepers of all time was filled with triumphs and challenges.
She represented the United States women’s national soccer team from 2000 to 2016, achieving significant milestones, including being a World Cup champion and a two-time Olympic gold medalist.
Throughout her career, Amelia played for various domestic and international clubs, leaving an indelible mark on the world of women’s soccer.
Solo’s exceptional talent, record-breaking statistics, and remarkable achievements have made her a true sports legend.
Hope Solo Kids: Vittorio Genghis And Lozen Orianna Judith Stevens
In March 2020, legendary soccer player Hope Solo gave birth to twins Vittorio Genghis and Lozen Orianna Judith Stevens with husband Jerramy Stevens.
After previously suffering an ectopic pregnancy, the former athlete underwent IVF to conceive her son and daughter.
Since their arrival, she has shared milestones with fans, including the twins’ first birthday in March 2021.
She called parenting exhausting but rewarding, feeling fortunate to have family support amidst the pandemic.
One year later, in 2022, the former goalkeeper was arrested for DUI with her kids in the car, also facing child abuse charges.
Her lawyer conveyed that the situation was more sympathetic than the initial charges suggested. She was released quickly and maintains that her children are her life.
The controversial arrest put her fiercely protective motherhood in the spotlight.
But her devotion to Vittorio and Lozen remains firm. She continues to treasure her twins, who just turned 3 in March 2023.
After infertility struggles, Stevens sees her children as miracles.
Though juggling the highs and lows of public life, she nurtures her son and daughter as her proudest legacy and hopes to inspire them just as she’s inspired women in sports for decades.
Hope Solo Husband
Solo is married to former NFL player Jerramy Stevens. The couple began dating in August 2012 after Solo returned from the Olympics.
They married that November in a rushed wedding just two days before Stevens’ arrest on domestic violence charges against Solo, which were later dropped.
Jerramy is a retired American football tight end drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2002’s first round after playing college football at the University of Washington.
He was among the top receivers with the Huskies and won the 2001 Rose Bowl. In 2005, the former athlete became the starting tight end for the Seahawks and played in Super Bowl XL.
He spent seven seasons with Seattle, followed by stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and St. Louis Rams, before retiring in 2010.
Off the field, he had frequent run-ins with the law during and after his playing career. But he settled down upon marrying Hope Solo in 2012, despite initial domestic turbulence.
Nearly a decade later, the pair has two children and lives in North Carolina.
Hope Solo Parents
Amelia was born in 1981 in Richland, Washington, to Judy and Jeffrey Solo, who divorced when she was six.
Her Italian-American war veteran father first taught Solo soccer as a child but was in and out of her life growing up.
When she was seven, her father picked her and her brother up for a trip to Yakima but drove three hours away to Seattle and stayed for days, leading to his arrest for kidnapping.
Despite this early turbulence, she reconnected with her father in college and remained close to him until his sudden death in 2007, as he influenced her significantly.
Even through the ups and downs with her father, his introduction to soccer ignited Hope’s lifelong passion for the sport.
