James Magnussen is an Australian former competitive swimmer.

He was a sprint freestyle specialist and one of the most successful swimmers in Australian history, having won two individual World Championship titles, four Commonwealth Games gold medals, and an Olympic silver medal.

Magnussen made his international debut in 2010 at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, where he won gold in the 100m freestyle.

He was also part of the Australian team that won silver in the 4x100m freestyle relay. He competed at the 2016 Rio Olympics but did not make it to the final of the 100m freestyle.

Rose McEevo is a model and Senior Lawyer at Brown Wright Stein Lawyers. She has appeared in various campaigns and magazines, such as Cosmopolitan and Women’s Health.

McEevo also competed in the Miss Universe Australia finals in 2016, where she nailed an awkward question about doping in sports.

In 2018, McEevo obtained a Bachelor’s degree in BA/LLB and later pursued a Master’s degree at the University of Sydney, from where she had obtained her previous degree.

She is also proficient in three languages: English, French, and Spanish. She has also worked as a volunteer at Ronald McDonald House Charities, Bali Life Foundation, and Marcel Foundation.

The couple met through mutual swimming acquaintances along with the help of her father in late 2014 or early 2015.

They celebrated Mcevo’s 21st birthday together and attended several events as a pair, such as the races and Australia Day.

Magnussen once claimed that having a woman in his life would distract him from swimming, but it seems Mcevo was worth the risk.

Now, the couple are engaged and soon tying the knot. We wish them happiness for their future together.

James Magnussen was the 2011 and 2013 100-meter freestyle world champion.

He holds the record for the fifth fastest swim in history in the 100-meter freestyle, with a time of 47.10, which until 2016 also stood as the fastest swim in textile swimwear material. 

James has won a total of 16 medals in major international competitions, eight gold, five silver, and three bronze, spanning the Olympics, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and the Pan Pacific Championships.
