In the Scottish Parliament election of 2021, she ran for Nicola Sturgeon’s seat in Glasgow Southside. She finished last and received the fewest votes out of the 357 candidates for the constituency, garnering only 46 votes (0.1%).
Fransen won the 2021 Batley and Spen by-election, coming second to last with 50 votes. Following the murder of David Amess, she stood for office as a member of the British Freedom Party in Southend West. 299 votes, or 2% of the vote, were cast for her.
