Romesh Ranganathan Tattoo
The British-Sri Lankan stand-up comedian and actor, has developed a fascination with tattoos in recent years. This obsession began after the birth of his first son when he and his wife agreed to get their son’s name inked as a tribute.
While Romesh followed through with the plan, his wife backed out, leaving him with the tattoo and a humorous sense of martyrdom.
Continuing his tattoo journey, the comedian got another tattoo after his second son’s birth.
During the filming of a travel show for BBC Two in Albania, the actor encountered an ex-convict who offered him a tattoo.
Not fully aware of the social etiquette, he accepted the offer, deeming it safer to deal with any repercussions later.
Impressed by his time in Albania, he decided to get the Albanian flag tattooed on his wrist.
Though the show’s producers expressed concern about his wife’s reaction, she proved indifferent, even suggesting she would prefer a swastika tattoo over the Autobot logo.
To his surprise, Jonathan received special recognition for his Albanian tattoo. While dining with his family, the restaurant manager, who happened to be Albanian, approached him after seeing the TV show.
The manager declared that the stand-up comedian would never have to pay for anything at the restaurant again.
While it was a delightful perk, Romesh realized he couldn’t return without being seen as cheap or facing awkward moments when trying to pay with his tattooed wrist.
